The fishing port of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie
This city of character is known for its sardine fishing. The quays surrounding the port allow you to stroll around and admire the colorful fishermen’s boats. No fewer than 52 vessels and 100 fishermen set sail from this port, bringing in 4,000 tonnes of fish every year.
The Little Island district
This district, also called the Moroccan district, is located near the port. Stroll through its narrow streets lined with small white houses.
Do not miss the Fisherman’s House. You’ll see how fishermen lived in the 1920s.
La Grande plage
Like all seaside resorts, it has a large beach. It is 3.6 km long. You’re bound to find a place to lay your towel on the fine sand.
You can walk on its embankment.
